The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and South African Youth Workers Association (SAYWA) have embarked on a three to five year programme to implement and monitor the Professionalising of Youth Work in South Africa.
The programme has among others prioritised the development of a Code of Ethics for Youth Workers and the Youth Work Policy.
The NYDA together with the SAYWA has developed a draft Code of Ethics, and has embarked on a process of provincial consultation to ensure buy in from Youth Workers on the Codes. The Summit is an opportunity for national stakeholders to be part of this critical milestone towards the Professionalisation of Youth Work in South Africa.
