National Treasury hosts media workshop on Medium Term Budget Policy Statement documents, 24 Oct

National Treasury has identified a need to facilitate a conversation between journalists and departmental senior officials that will assist journalists with navigating the Medium Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) documents. The conversation will happen in the form of a media workshop. The workshop is aimed at improving quality reporting by assisting journalists to analyse the MTBPS documents.

The workshop is in recognition that the period provided to go through the information on the day of MTBPS is limited for media to grasp the key issues in relation to the current economic climate and financial management imperatives.

In light of the above, National Treasury invites media to a pre-MTBPS workshop.

Time: 14h00-16h00

Please note this is not an opportunity for interviews nor is it a briefing on what will be presented on the MTBPS. The workshop is off the record.
