Media invite NSFAS to hand over disability assistive device at University of Venda
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will be hosting an Official Handover Ceremony of Assistive Devices to disabled students who are funded through NSFAS. The event will take place at the Sport Hall, University of Venda Disability Unit in Thohoyandou.
NSFAS has purchased assistive devices with the aim of improving the lives of 71 students with disabilities from the university by increasing their accessibility to educational material. These assistive devices will be officially handed over to students with disability during the ceremony. On the day achievement awards will also be handed out to the top achieving students with disability.
In attendance will be Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Buti Manamela who will deliver the keynote address, NSFAS Chief Executive Officer Mr Steven Zwane, Florence Radzilani the Executive Mayor of the Vhembe District Municipality, and University of Venda Head of the Disability Unit Dr Mbuvha.
