The National School of Government to Sign Agreement with Civil Service College of Singapore to train public servants
The National School of Government (NSG) will tomorrow, 23 April 2021, sign an agreement with the Civil Service College (CSC) of Singapore to collaborate in the training of South African public servants.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will open the way for the two institutions to partner in the training of officials in the three spheres of government through exchanges, research as well as the development of case studies related to governance and administration. The important MOU further enhances the friendship and mutual understanding between the two institutions as well as the two countries. The signing will be observed by the Ambassadors of both countries.
The National School of Government (NSG), which falls under the portfolio of the Minister for the Public Service and Administration Mr Senzo Mchunu, enters into strategic partnerships with various institutions in South Africa and around the world to build a capable and professional public sector that is responsive to the country’s developmental agenda.
A quick outcome of the MoU will be a Master Class on the Challenges of Governance in a Complex World which will take place on the 10th of May 2021. It will be presented by Mr Peter Ho who is a Senior Fellow in the CSC and a former head of the civil service in Singapore. The Master Class will target heads of departments, state owned entities and municipalities. The Director-General and Secretary of Cabinet in the Presidency (RSA), Ms Phindile Baleni will be a respondent in the Master Class.
