National Commissioner Khehla Sitole launches National Public Order Policing Reserve Units, 16 Mar

Commissioner of the South African Police Service, General Khehla Sitole cordially invites all media to a launch of National Public Order Policing (POP) Reserve Units

The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, General Khehla Sitole cordially invites all media to a launch of National Public Order Policing (POP) Reserve Units.

The event will be officiated by the Minister of Police, Mr Bheki Cele accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Bongani Mkongi.

There will be simulation exercises conducted - involving POP, Airwing, Metro Police and the South African National Defence Force - showcasing an integrated approach to crowd management. There will further be a showcasing of resources to be distributed including vehicles and crowd management equipment to capacitate the units.

The event will take place as follows:

Date: Friday, 16 March 2018
Time:  09:00
Venue: The rugby field, SAPS Tshwane Academy, Rebecca Street, Pretoria West.

The Minister, Deputy Minister and senior management of the South African Police Service will be in attendance.
