Mpumalanga Treasury launches learnership programme for unemployed graduates, 6 Jul 

The Provincial Treasury will on Friday, 6 July 2018, launch the learnership programme which is aimed at developing skills and training for unemployed graduates in the province.

The department has already selected ten (10) unemployed graduates who will undergo a three - year supervised training at an Accredited Training Centre (ATC) as Trainee Accountants.

They will also be expected to write a Professional Evaluation (PE) to determine the prospective candidate’s ability to integrate academic knowledge with the practical skills required in the workplace.

The graduates are recruited from the field of Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent with the core subjects on Financial Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, Corporate and Commercial Law, and Management Accounting.

The programme is a partnership between the National Treasury and the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) facilitated an initiative to rollout learnership programme to be implemented by Provincial Treasuries.

The programme will entirely be funded by Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET).
