Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza will participate at the official hand-over of the Komati Water Augmentation Scheme and at the launch of national water week.
This is an initiative by two national departments; namely the Department of Water and Environmental Affairs, and the Department of Energy meant to resolve the water supply constraints at the Eskom’s Dhuva and Matla Power Stations in Kriel.
It augments the Komati Water Scheme from the Vaal eastern subsystem for the sole benefit of Eskom.
The ceremony will also be used to launch the national water week which will start from Monday18 until Sunday 24 March 2013 under the theme “Water is life – Respect it, Conserve it, Enjoy it.”
The Honourable Premier will join both the Minister of Energy Ms Dipuo Peters and Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa at the hand-over ceremonies arranged as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 19 March 2013
Time: 09h00
Venue: Kriel, Rietfontein Pump Station, Emalahleni Local Municipality.
The media is invited.
