The Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize will tomorrow meet with the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) leadership in a first joint executive committee meeting at the CoGTA Pretoria head offices.
While the Minister has interacted with SALGA at diffirent levels and platforms, tomorrow's meeting is the first joint executive committee meeting between the two institutions since Minister Mkhize took over the leadership of CoGTA. The meeting will discuss various strategic issues pertinent to local government.
These include local government legislative issues, municipal bulk electricity debt and other recent developments in the space of local government especially the Minister’s recent interventions to support dysfunctional municipalities.
The media is invited for a photo opportunity and briefing by Minister Mkhize.
