Minister Kodwa to continue rural sport development commitment in back-to-school programmes in Centane and Mdantsane, Eastern Cape
The Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Mr Zizi Kodwa will continue the intervention by Government to develop rural communities in Back-to-School engagements in Centane and Mdantsane, Eastern Cape.
On Wednesday, 24 January 2024, Minister Kodwa will handover school and sports equipment at Mandende Junior Secondary School. The Minister will also conduct a site visit at the multipurpose sports court that is being built by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture at the school, and conduct a site visit at Malova Initiation School.
A few months ago, on the 25th anniversary of Malova Initiation School in Centane, Minister Kodwa committed to support the school which has been safeguarding culture by promoting healthy initiation practices and helping to foster social cohesion in the community.
On Thursday, 25 January 2024, Minister Kodwa will handover school and sports equipment and attire in high-performing schools in Mdantsane, Ulwazi High School and Vulamazibuko High School. These schools have been centres of academic excellence, with Ulwazi High School having achieved a 100 percent matric pass rate for nine consecutive years.
