Minister Zizi Kodwa joins Cricket South Africa (CSA) in honoring Pink Day One Day International (ODI) cricket match, 2 Apr

The Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Mr. Zizi Kodwa will tomorrow join Cricket South Africa (CSA) in honoring the Pink Day One Day International (ODI) cricket match between South Africa and the Netherlands.

A CSA led initiative, the Pink Day is charity project which raises breast cancer awareness as well as raising funds for the breast cancer cause. Funds raised at the event benefit the Breast Care Unit of Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

“I am motivated by CSA’s continued active involvement in social responsibility initiatives. Since its inception in 2013, the Pink Day project has raised over R7-million which has assisted the beneficiary hospital provide specialized cancer treatment and care, regardless of geographical location or socioeconomic status of patients. Sport plays an important role in building communities and this project is one other examples of this,” Minister Kodwa said.
