Tomorrow, 12 June 2013 Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Alan Winde will visit two aquaculture companies in the country’s abalone farming capital, Hermanus.
Minister Winde will tour Abagold, which won the SA Premier Business Exporter Award this year and the HIK Abalone Farm. Minister Winde will discuss the financial and regulatory aid the Western Cape Government is providing to the industry.
Together these two companies employ 450 people and export more than 400 tonnes of abalone each year.
