Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs Mrs. Edna Molewa to launch commemorative stamp around National Water Week 2013

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, Mrs. Edna Molewa will, in partnership with the South African Post Office (SAPO), launch a limited edition commemorative stamp around National Water Week 2013.

The SAPO has partnered with the Department of Water Affairs to bring issue s of water demand management and awareness to the fore. The widely spread post office infrastructure is regarded as a healthy platform to use for the dissemination of relevant water use messages for all sectors of society.

The Minister will also launch the Water research Commission’s report on the state of non-revenue water. The report details what the country loses as a result of misuse, unfit infrastructure, etcetera.

The two events will follow each other in terms of time.

The Minister therefore invites all media to these auspicious launches, at which events all issues around water availability for the country will be highlighted.

Time: 9h30 – 11h00: commemorative stamp launch
Time: 11h30 – 13h00: launch of report on non-revenue water
Venue: Cape Town International Conference Centre for both events.
