Minister of Tourism Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk to host Inaugural Ministerial Dialogue of African Tourism Ministers at Tourism Indaba

Minister of Tourism, Mr Marthinus van Schalkwyk, will be hosting an Inaugural Ministerial session with fellow African Tourism Ministers at the 2014 Tourism INDABA in Durban. The session will be the first ministerial level policy dialogue held at INDABA as it opens its doors to the African Continent.

Themed ‘Africa: Open for Tourism Business’, the session will afford African Ministers and key tourism industry players a platform to discuss and debate the current state of Tourism in Africa and collectively devise solutions to the growth and development of tourism in Africa.

The keynote address will be delivered by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, followed by a ministerial panel discussion on the following topics:

  • Visas and travel facilitation
  • Travel advisories
  • Airlift in Africa
  • Improving intra-African travel
