Minister Thulas Nxesi launches the EPWP National Artisan Development Programme, 26 Jun

The Minister of Public Works, TW Nxesi will on 26 June 2015 launch the EPWP National Artisan Development Programme at the Lynville Stadium in Emalahleni (Witbank), Mpumalanga Province.

The Programme is a partnership between the National Department of Public Works’ (NDPW) Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training (MERSETA) to develop scarce skills among the youth in various artisan trades such as Boilermaking, Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Electrician, Fitter & Turner and Motor Mechanic.

This initiative is part of the Government’s Youth Month Programme to move the country’s youth forward.

Minister Nxesi is expected to be joined by the Premier of Mpumalanga Province Mr. D. Mabuza as well as senior Government officials in the Province.

Minister Nxesi will also lead the media through a tour to FLSmidth Buffalo (Pty) Ltd where the EPWP participants are placed for experiential learning.
