Public Works hosts Mini Lab on Small Harbours Development
The Department of Public Works has wrapped up it's Operation Phakisa lab which was held in Durban. The lab is a congregation of stakeholders who work intensely under the guidance of facilitators to identify challenges and issues, as well as to develop and propose initiatives responding to the identified challenges and issues. It's ultimate aim is to develop detailed implementation plans for taking the initiatives forward.
Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi will be presenting closing remarks to the lab at a Gala dinner that will be held at the Hilton Hotel on Thursday, 29 November 2018.
The Lab was a follow-on to Operation Phakisa on Oceans Economy. Operation Phakisa is a Presidential initiative launched in South Africa in 2014 and aims to boost economic growth and create jobs in the oceans economy.
