The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Thembi Nkadimeng will be visiting uThukela District Municipality, specifically Alfred Duma Local Municipality on the 19 January 2024.
Minister will be accompanied by the MEC Sithole-Moloi of CoGTA in KZN Province and the mayors under UThukela District.
The visit of the Minister follows heavy rains which caused untold damages and destruction, especially in Alfred Duma Local Municipality.
The Minister will engage various stakeholders to gather information and understand the extent of the damage. In addition visit will receive updates and discus the extent of the ongoing work and other additional planned interventions for the municipality in an effort to assist communities.
The Minister and the leadership will also undertake an assessment the of damages in the municipality.
