Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams and Deputy Minister Obed Bapela hand over technology devices to traditional leaders, 20 Aug

The Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Stella Ndabeni Abrahams will on Thursday 20th of August 2020 hand over tablets to traditional leaders represented in the National House of Traditional Leaders (NHTL).

The donation will be received by Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr Obed Bapela, chairperson of the NHTL Ikosi Mahlangu and Deputy Chairperson Inkosikazi Mhlawuli.

Minister expressed appreciation to MTN for donating the tools of trade to traditional leaders as access to information is at the heart of the department’s mandate. The devices will enable them to benefit from the department’s SA Connect Programme which seeks to rollout broadband connectivity across all underserviced areas in the country.

The handover of the tools of trade follows the recently signed MoU between the Ministry of Communications and Digital Technologies and the Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs to facilitate the temporary rapid deployment of electronic communications and facilities within municipalities across the country.
