Minister of Sport and Recreation commits to sports development in Mabopane

The Minister of Sport and Recreation South Africa, Mr Fikile Mbalula will host a hand over ceremony for sporting equipment and facilities for the community of Mabopane in Block X. This programme is part of the community outreach programmes, which he conducts across all the nine provinces.

He is supported by MEC of Gauteng Sport, Recreation Arts and Culture, Mr Lebogang Maile and the Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Mr Kgosientso Ramokgopa

The activities for the day will include but not limited to the following:

  • Sport and recreation activities ( 5 a side football, volleyball, chess, indigenous games, aerobics)
  • Sod turning ceremony for the installation of a multi–purpose sports court at Mabopane Secondary School
  • Official address to the community
  • Sod turning ceremony for the installation of an outdoor community gymnasium
  • Handover of sport equipment and attire to 10 schools and community clubs.
