Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, invites members of the Media to the launch of the Association of Colleges for South Africa which takes place at 11h00 tomorrow, 25 April at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park.
The Minister will deliver the keynote address.
The launch of AoCSA has strong ties with the United Kingdom’s Further Education and Training (FET) sector which has been very successful in establishing and maintaining its own Association of Colleges.
“Although the establishment of the Association of Colleges of South Africa has been adapted from the UK model, it is important to note that our’s is and will always maintain a specific responsiveness to the South African context in which it must operate,” Minister Nzimande says.
The body comes out of collaboration between the South African Colleges Principal Organisation (SACPO), the Further Education and Training College Employers Organisation (FETCEO), the National Business Initiative (NBI) and the British Council.
