Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Sihle Zikalala will deliver a keynote address at UKZN’s College of Law and Management Studies (CLMS) annual Research Day on Thursday 12 October 2023.
Convened under the theme: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 for Higher Education Institutions Post-COVID-19 Pandemic, the Research Day brings together diverse members of academia, including Scholars, Researchers, Graduates, and postgraduate Students hailing from various Schools within the College of Law and Management Studies. They will be showcasing the latest research outcomes and advancements in pertinent fields, including Accounting, Economics and Finance, Law, Supply Chain and Logistics, Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship, Corporate Governance, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, and many more.
Minister Zikala’s address and expertise will enhance the academic discourse on the challenges and opportunities facing higher education institutions in their endeavours and contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the post-COVID-19 socio-economic environment.
The Day’s programme will also feature the Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) which challenges research students to communicate the significance of their projects to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes. The 3MT provides research students with the opportunity to develop their academic, presentation, and research communication skills by explaining their research to an intelligent but non-specialist audience.
