The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr Senzo Mchunu, will engage with residents of South Hills and Ebony Park in Johannesburg, following the recent water supply challenges experienced in the areas.
Residents of South Hills have not had water for over 2 weeks; Johannesburg Water has advised that this was as a result of low levels in Rand Water’s Klipriviersberg reservoir, which was caused by the power failure at Rand Water’s Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant, following the violent storm on the 19th of September 2023. Minister Mchunu will engage the residents of South Hills, following the update that full pumping capacity to all its systems had been achieved by Rand Water.
