Minister Ronald Lamola to provide legal assistance to members of the public at the Legal Aid Advice Line

In his quest to bring access to justice for all, the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Mr Ronald Lamola, will on Wednesday, 31 July 2019 provide legal advice to members of the public at the Legal Aid Advice Line in Johannesburg, Gauteng. 

Minister Lamola's provision of legal advice and interactions at the Legal Aid Advice Line forms part of Mandela Month commemorations and most importantly seeks to encourage members of the public to utilise Legal Aid South Africa's legal services, available at no cost. "Legal Aid South Africa continues to do sterling work in ensuring access to justice and safeguarding the right to a fair trial by people who are indigent and unable to purchase legal services," said Minister Lamola on the occasion of the tabling of his department budget vote earlier this month. 

It is envisaged that the Minister will also interact with Legal Aid South Africa staff on challenges they encounter while executing their daily tasks and conclude his visit by undertaking a walkabout to identify opportunities for modernisation initiatives.
