Members of the media are invited to cover the ministerial engagement on the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Special Economic Zone (FTSEZ) that will be led by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr Parks Tau, and the Premier of Limpopo, Dr Phophi Ramathuba on Tuesday, 20 October 2026.
Minister Tau and Premier Ramathuba will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Dickson Masemola, MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism in Limpopo, Dr Tshitereke Matibe, Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Municipality, Councillor Minah Bahula, and the Mayor of Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality Councillor Dorah Mphethi.
The engagement will be preceded by the visit to the Acting Queen Manyaku Thulare of the Bapedi Kingship.
The day’s programme includes a site tour of the SEZ, as well as an engagement with the media in attendance.
The objective of the day’s activities is to provide an opportunity for a fact-to-face engagement between national government, provincial government, local stakeholders, industry representatives, and traditional leadership on the development and implementation of the FTSEZ.
The engagement also presents a strategic opportunity to showcase the progress of the FTSEZ, strengthen partnerships with government and industry stakeholders, communicate investment opportunities, and demonstrate the potential contribution of the Special Economic Zone to industrialisation, economic growth, beneficiation, and job creation within Limpopo Province and South Africa.
