Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula hands over classrooms to Kiddy College, 25 Jun

As part of the Ministry Outreach and Wellness Programme, Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Honourable Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula MP, will handover classrooms to Kiddy College at Tekbase on Thursday, 25 July 2015.

The handover follows endless fundraising initiatives by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Spouses’ Forum in an effort to improve the dilapidated condition of the preschool. The preschool, which provides care and education to predominantly kids of SANDF members has been struggling to deal with the rising number of children, prompting the Spouses’ Forum into action.

Consequently, a number of organisations pledged their support through sponsorship, resulting in the biggest and outstanding sponsorship thus far; being the conversion and equipping of shipping containers into classrooms, courtesy of Transnet.

Minister Mapisa-Nqakula is convinced that the additional classrooms will result in a highly effective and conducive environment to learning.

In view of the above, you are cordially invited to send a journalist and/ or photographer to cover this auspicious event. Journalists are advised to arrive no later than 12h00 at Tek Base, College Road, Lyttleton.
