As the Department of Water and Sanitation, prepares to celebrate the biggest departmental flagship programme, National Water Week (NWW) 2015 from 16-22 March under the theme “Water has no substitute”, its Minister Mrs Nomvula Mokonyane and her Deputy Mrs Pam Tshwete will visit to the province to amongst others get an overview of the status of water and sanitation provisioning in the province. The visit will include inter alia but not limited to briefing about:
- Bulk Infrastructure Projects
- Bucket eradication programme in the province
The thrust of the NWW campaign is to remind South Africans about the importance of saving water and using it wisely. To further remind the nation how essential and precious water is, the Department of Water and Sanitation will use the thought provoking key message “What if this was the last drop”.
Minister Mokonyane and Deputy Minister Tshwete are expected to launch various water projects all over the country during the NWW. The whole month of March will however be dedicated to water awareness.
Media are invited to attend the open sessions which would allow photo and interview opportunities.
