Minister Nomvula Mokonyane conducts door-to-door registration of government subsidised decoder in Welkom, 28 Oct

Minister of Communications takes the registration of decoders to the community of Mphatlalatsane, Free State

Minister of Communications Ms Nomvula Mokonyane will on Sunday the 28th of October; visit the Mphatlalatsane community in the Free State for a door-to-door registration of government subsidized decoders. Minister will be accompanied by the Premier of the Free State; Sisi Ntombela .This is part of the broadcasting digital migration programme.

The door-to-door registration is particularly aimed at the elderly and disabled, as well as those qualifying families who, for credible reasons, are unable to go to their nearest Post Office for registration. This registration process will run concurrently with the one taking place at the Post Office. The primary aim of digital migration is to release valuable spectrum which will be used to provide new services such as wireless and other broadband offerings. All the analogue transmitters in the Free State province will be switched off in December 2018.
