The Minister of Human Settlements Nomaindiya Mfeketo, Eastern Cape MEC for Human Settlements Babalo Madikizela, and Nelson Mandela Metro Executive Mayor Mongameli Bobani will launch a new housing waiting list process and handover title deeds this Friday in Uitenhage.
The revamped housing waiting list is a technologically driven housing application system where applications are processed and positions on the waiting list are generated automatically in a fair and transparent manner.
The technology also allows beneficiaries to enquire on the status of their application using their smart cellphones.
The revamped housing list will serve as a source of information to be used in the planning, development, funding, reporting and allocation of housing opportunities in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.
On Saturday 6 April 2019, Minister Mfeketo will lead a Good Green Deeds clean-up campaign launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this year. The cleaning campaign and handing over of title deeds will take place at NU13, Ward 55 in Motherwell from 10h00.
Members of the media interested in photo opportunities and securing interviews with the Minister and other officials are also invited to attend this event.
