Minister for Department of Mineral Resources, Advocate Ngoako Ramatlhodi is scheduled to attend the start of a drilling operation of Block 11B/12B. The commencement of the drilling shows appetite for exploration of offshore oil and gas, and signals confidence in the South African economy by the industry. You will be afforded an opportunity to have one on one interviews with the Minister on site.
The site visit is scheduled to take place as follows:

Venue: George Rig, Western Cape
Time: 08h15 for 08h30 @ George Airport to depart to the Rig (Site) until 14h00
Members of the media are hereby invited to attend and note the following travel arrangements;
- Travel is at own cost to and from George Airport.
- Transport will be made available from George Airport to the drilling site and back.
More details on the project will be made available tomorrow.
Kindly confirm attendance for easier co-ordination of transport to the site and protective clothing. (Provide shoe size and size of overall) by at least 14h30, 23 July 2014.
