Minister Nathi Mthethwa launches Human Rights Month in Cape Town

Minister Nathi Mthethwa invites members of the media to the launch of Human Rights Month under theme, “The Year of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela: Celebrating His Legacy”. The event will take place on Thursday, 1 March 2018 at the Imbizo Media Centre in Parliament, Cape Town.

This year’s National Human Rights Month Celebration coincides with the centenary of former President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and Ms Albertina Sisulu. Nelson Mandela and Albertina Sisulu were national icons and heroes of the liberation struggle, who shaped the country’s vision, mission and value system, they fought against inequality and abuse of human rights hence the 2018 Human Rights theme is dedicated to our heroes of the liberation struggle.

Activities for the month will be outlined during the launch.
