Minister Naledi Pandor tables the Department of Science and Technology Budget Vote in Parliament

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will table the Department of Science and Technology's (DST) 2014/15 Budget Vote in Parliament on 22 July 2014. Pandor will highlight the department's key focus areas for the financial year.

Before the speech, the Minister, together with Deputy Minister Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi, will do a walkabout and interact with the exhibitors at the Cape Centre for the Book. The budget vote will be followed by a presentation on the status of innovation in South Africa by the CEO of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Dr. Sibusiso Sibisi. This will also be held at the Cape Town Centre for the Book.

In its quest to demystify science, technology and innovation, the DST, working with the entities that report to it, will mount an impressive exhibition, titled “Science at Work", at the Centre for the Book. Through the exhibition, the department also hopes to highlight the importance of science and technology in society.

Both members of the public and media are invited to the exhibitions.
