Minister Naledi Pandor delivers 2023/24 International Relations and Cooperation Dept Budget Vote, 9 May  

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, will outline South Africa’s foreign policy priorities for the 2023/2024 financial year in a Budget Vote Speech to be delivered in Parliament on Wednesday, 10 May 2023. It is expected that the Minister’s speech will also include some reflections on the achievements recorded during the course of the previous financial year.

Deputy Minister Candith Mashego-Dlamini and Deputy Minister Alvin Botes will participate in the debate on the Budget Vote. On the eve of the Budget Vote Speech, on 09 May 2023, Minister Pandor will participate in a roundtable discussion organised in partnership with the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). The roundtable discussion will focus on the current geo-political environment and South Africa’s role therein. The event will take place at the Kelvin Grove Club in Newlands, Cape Town.

Participants at the seminar will include SAIIA CEO Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, Prof. Siphamandla Zondi and Dr. Chris Lansberg (University of Johannesburg) and Dr. Philani Mthembu (Institute for Global Dialogue). The two events will be streamed live on DIRCO’s social media platforms (Facebook, DIRCOza; Twitter, @DRICO_ZA) and Ubuntu Radio (ubunturadio.com). The Budget Vote Speech will also be streamed live on the Parliament YouTube channel (@ParliamentofRSA).
