Minister Naledi Pandor to outline how Department of Higher Education and Training plans to utilise the over R80 billion in the 2018/19 Department budget.
The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET)’s Budget Vote debate takes place on Thursday, 17 May 2018 at 14h00, in the National Assembly, Cape Town.
At 10h00, Minister Naledi Pandor and Deputy Minister Buti Manamela will brief the media at Imbizo Media Centre, Ground Floor, 120 Plein Street, regarding the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) priorities for 2018/19 financial year.
Between 06h00 – 08h00, Minister Pandor and Deputy Minister Buti Manamela will do a walk-about at the Cape Town Bus station and Taxi Rank, where they will help with the distribution of education material on the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, career advice and guidance, information on the quality assurance of Post School Institutions as well as encouraging students to apply on time for spaces at institutions of higher learning.
On the side-lines of the budget vote, the DHET will assemble an impressive exhibition which will demonstrate the role played by the Department in developing skills and preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Minister Pandor will deliver the budget vote under the theme “Human Resources Development and the 4th Industrial Revolution.”
