Seventh International Symposium on Macro and Supramolecular Architectures and Materials (MAM-14) Gala Dinner

Minister Pandor will be the guest speaker at the MAM-14 gala dinner. Held under the theme, "From Innovation to Commercialisation", the symposium is hosted by Mintek, through its Nanotechnology Innovation Centre. 

It provides an interdisciplinary forum for scientists involved in the full spectrum of research, development and application to discuss the current status and recent developments in the field, with a focus on the chemistry and practical approaches. The symposium also offers an opportunity for scientists and engineers to showcase their research on an international platform.

Event: Launch of Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) Annual Report

Minister Pandor will address the launch of the 2013/14 HSRC annual report. The launch takes place under the theme "Towards 2030: Transforming the Quality of Life of All through Research".

Event: L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Sub-Saharan Africa

Venue: The Venue, 17 The High Street, Melrose Arch, Johannesburg.

Minister Pandor will deliver the opening address at the awards ceremony. The objective of the L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science programme is to bring support to young women pursuing scientific careers. Awards of €5 000 will be made to each of five doctoral students, and awards of €10 000 to each of five postdoctoral fellows in the fields of life sciences and physical sciences.

Event: Official opening of the HySA Infrastructure Centre of Competence research facilities.

Minister Pandor will deliver an address at this event. The Department of Science and Technology funds the national Hydrogen South Africa (HySA) programme. HySA Infrastructure has state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities dedicated to research, development and technology implementation in the field of hydrogen production, delivery and storage.
