Minister of Labour, Mildred Oliphant puts spotlight on domestic workers at Labour Imbizo
In a thrust to elevate the rights of vulnerable workers in South Africa, Labour Minister, Mildred Oliphant, will talk to domestic workers on Sunday, 16 March, Durban City Hall. The Minister’s Imbizo starts at 10h00 and will focus on domestic workers’ rights, sectoral determination and engage domestic workers on various issues that concerns them.
It is expected that 1600 domestic workers will attend Minister's Imbizo. Senior management of the Department of Labour is also expected to attend the event and provide support to Oliphant. Various business units and entities of the department including the Compensation Fund and the Unemployment Insurance Fund will also exhibit services to delegates/ stakeholders attending the event.
