South Africa's Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant and Labour Deputy Minister, Inkosi Phathekile Holomisa are to jointly table the Department's Budget Vote Speech in the Old Assembly Chamber (OAC) in Parliament, Cape Town on Thursday (May 7).
The Minister(s) Budget Vote Speech will be delivered from 14h00-16h30.
Oliphant and Holomisa will deliver the breakdown of allocations of the Department of Labour's Budget for the 2015/16 financial year. The Budget Vote will also present the Ministers to reflect on the state of the labour market, especially in regard to the new labour legislation that recently came into effect; reflect on the inspectorate; social security and job creation initiatives.
The Ministers will also shed light on the key achievements during the previous financial year, and map out plans for the department in the year under review for its entities and programmes.
NB: Oliphant, Holomisa and the Department of Labour Director-General, Thobile Lamati and senior officials of the department including senior officials of the department’s public entities will host a post Budget Vote media briefing.
