Minister Mildred Oliphant attends Youth and Workers' Summit in Saldanha Bay, 7 to 8 Mar

Department of Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant to engage workers and youth in Saldanha Bay

The Department of Labour has made significant strides in its endeavour to ensure compliance and opportunities for its clients in the West Coast. To build on this momentum, the Minister of Labour, Mildred Oliphant will engage with the community of Saldanha Bay at a Youth and Workers Summit this Friday and Saturday respectively. 

The summit will see the Minister engaging with young people on the first day on the opportunities available through the department. She will be joined by senior Labour officials and key stakeholders on the day which includes the Industrial Development Zone partner.

On Saturday the focus will shift to discussions on employment, sectoral determinations and compliance within the workplace. There will be specific emphasis on the hospitality, agricultural and fishing industries. The Minister will be joined by amongst others, workers and organised labour representatives.
