Minister Michael Masutha officially opens Schweizer Reneke Sexual Offences Court, 22 Jul

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Adv. Michael Masutha, MP, will officially open the Schweizer Reneke Sexual Offences Court in the North West province on Wednesday, 22 July 2015.

The court will be capacitated with specially trained officials and equipment that will assist to reduce any chance of secondary trauma for victims of sexual violence. This is one of Justice and Constitutional Development department’s priorities to address increasing number of sexual offences reported and to directly respond to the implementation of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act 32 of 2007.

As part of his contribution to Mandela Month, Minister Masutha will then proceed to visit Reamogetse Centre for Children with Disabilities in Ipelegeng where he will hand over donated material, help with the painting of the centre and interact with the children.

He will conclude his day with an imbizo at Ipelegeng Community Centre where he is expected to interact with approximately 400 residents on Access to Justice and other services offered by the department. Members of the media are invited to the launch as follows:
