Tomorrow, 17 July 2014, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo, will be officially handing over the 200 condolence books that have been brought from all over the province to the Western Cape Archives and Records Service ahead of Mandela Day.
Since the passing of former President, Nelson Mandela, last year, members of the public have been encouraged to write their condolence messages in these books from different parts of the province. Now they will be stored at the Western Cape Archives and Records Service building where they will be available for public viewing.
In honouring our national icon, uTat’uMadiba and his 67 years of selfless service, the Minister will officially handover the books to the people of the Western Cape for their benefit and that of generations to come.
