Minister Masutha to launch Sexual Offences Court in Bethlehem

Justice and Correctional Services Minister Michael Masutha, MP, accompanied by his deputy Mr John Jeffery, MP will officially launch a Sexual Offences Court in Bethlehem, Free State province, on Friday, 15 August 2014.

The launch of this court will mark an important milestone in the rigorous fight against the increasing number of sexual crimes against women, children and persons with disability. This dedicated court is equipped to provide specialized victim-support services, improve the effectiveness of sexual offences matters and improve the conviction rates.

It will be followed by an Imbizo where the community of Bethlehem will have an opportunity to interact with the minister and officials from the department and other government departments about service delivery issues affecting them. Members of the media are invited as follows:
