Minister Lindiwe Sisulu hands over Sebokeng Wastewater Treatment Plant Module Six, 14 Mar

The Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation Minister, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu, will on Sunday, 14 March 2021, handover of the Sebokeng Wastewater Treatment Plant Module Six (6) which is part of the Sedibeng Regional Sewer Scheme.

The handover of the Module Six (6) will address and cater for the growing population and development in the area.

The Sebokeng Wastewater Treatment Plant is currently treating approximately 150 Mℓ/d (50% more than the design capacity) and the intended upgrade is to increase its capacity from 100 ML/day to 200 ML/day by adding two modules of 50 ML/day each that is Modules 6 and 7.

Module Six (6) will thus assist to ease the hydraulic overloading of the WWTW and to allow for more developments, which had been severely affected, to be connected to the sewer network.
