The Minister of Human Settlements, Lindiwe Sisulu, MP, together with the Mpumalanga MEC of Human Settlements, Mr Speedy Mashilo will on Friday, 20 October 2017 launch the Human Settlements Ombud.
The Human Settlements Ombudman will among other things deal with issues of conflicts between contractors, Provinces and Municipalities and the perception of corruption in the sector.
Minister Sisulu and MEC Mashilo will also handover houses to the deserving households of Kwazamokuhle (Hendrina) at the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.
The beneficiaries of the housing project come from informal settlements at Kwazamokuhle and its surrounding farms. They include child headed household, elderly and senior citizen.
Last week, Minister Sisulu launched one of the over 30 Mega City Human Settlements projects in Gauteng as a part of a national drive to reduce housing backlog.
Minister Sisulu and MEC Mashilo will be joined by Executive Mayor of the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, Cllr Masina and other local councilors.
