Minister Joe Phaahla receives multimillion-rand health equipment from German Development Bank, 25 Jan

Minister of Health, Dr Joe Phaahla will tomorrow (Thursday, 25 January) preside over an official ceremony to handover multimillion-rand donation of mobile health clinics, cold chain and Information Technology equipment from the German Development Bank (KfW) to support efforts by South African government to strengthen the public health system.

The donated assets valued at R500m include specialised vaccine fridges, vaccine carriers, temperature monitoring devices, notebooks, tablets and mobile health clinics. 

The German Development Bank is amongst donors which contributed to the country`s response to COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister Phaahla will be joined by the German Ambassador to South Africa Mr Andreas Peschke, Deputy Minister Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Health Ms Nomagugu Simelane, leaders from local government and DG Murray Trust.
