Transport Minister remembers those who died in road crashes

Transport Minister, Mr Joe Maswanganyi, MP, together with the Premier of the Free State, Mr Ace Magashule and the South African community at large will remember those who lost their lives due to road carnages at a World Day of Remembrance (WDR) ceremony in Phuthadijhaba on Sunday, 19 November 2017.

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year to remember all those who are killed or injured on the world’s roads. It is a Day for reflection on the emotional and financial burden road crashes cause for society daily. As a signatory to the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety campaign, South Africa will participate through an inter-faith prayer session and wreath laying ceremony.
 
Minister Maswanganyi will hand over assistive devices to road crash victims.
 
Prior to WDR Deputy Minister, joined by the Free State Premier and CEO’s of Transport Entities will host a ‘RAF ON THE ROAD’ campaign to assist members of the public with claim enquiries. Through the ‘RAF ON THE ROAD’ they will bring services of the Road Accident Fund to the public.
