DPME to launch NDP School competition
Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe, will officially launch the annual National Development Plan (NDP) school debate and essay competition as part of the fifth anniversary celebration of the adoption of the NDP under the theme “Define your Ideal South Africa of 2030 and play your part” on Tuesday, 26th September 2017.
The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) will host the competition in partnership with the Department of Basic Education (DBE).
A learner debate will take place as part of the proceedings of the launch and it will be on the topic “What can be done to achieve the goals of vision 2030” and will be judged by representatives from the DPME, DBE, National Planning Commission (NPC) and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).
The competition seeks to create awareness and educate youth about the NDP 2030 as an overarching plan for the country, highlight the importance of education as one of the country's priorities and encourage society to play their part in making vision 2030 a success.
