Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe, will deliver the key note address at the Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) workshop.
The FSDM programme is a joint collaboration between the Department of Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) and Offices of the Premier in the nine provinces. The programme was initiated in June 2011, with a focus on unannounced monitoring visits to assess the quality of service delivery at facility level. The FSDM has monitored 678 facilities including courts, home affairs offices, schools, police stations amongst others.
The findings from the monitoring assessments are communicated to the key responsible stakeholders and it is through the programme that improvements are facilitated within the three spheres of government.
Since its inception in 2011, the DPME, acting as the Programme Manager, hosts an annual workshop with Offices of the Premier to review the implementation of the FSDM Programme, focusing on both strategic and operational aspects to improve its impact on service delivery. The workshop will also be used as a planning platform for the following year of implementation.
To date the programme has presented 4 annual findings to the G & A cabinet Committee, the most recent being in August 2015.
