Minister Mantashe to visits Virginia Mine in Welkom

The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP) will, on Monday 26 June 2023, visit Virginia Mine where at least 31 suspected illegal miners who are believed to be Basotho nationals lost their lives in a ventilation Shaft, in Welkom. 

Minister Mantashe will be accompanied by the officials from Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s (DMRE) Mine Health and Safety Inspectorate.
