Minister Mantashe to release 2018 Mine Health and Safety Statistics
Mineral Resources Minister, Gwede Mantashe, will on Friday, the 1st of March 2019, release statistics on the health and safety performance of the mining industry for the 2018 calendar year. The release will include statistics on fatalities, injuries and occupational diseases.
Ensuring the health and safety of mineworkers is among the Minister’s key focus areas as it is critical for the sustainability of the mining industry in the long term.
Members of the media are invited to a briefing on the statistics scheduled to take place as follows:
