The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP) will on Friday, 25 February 2022, address the National Energy Dialogue in Johannesburg.
Hosted by the Central Energy Fund in partnership with the Financial Mail and Mkokeli Advisory, the Dialogue will bring together government officials, energy expects, economists, and environmentalists to discuss South Africa’s approach to the Just Energy Transition.
The discussions will include deliberations on how to ensure systems reliability while transitioning and simultaneously ensure energy supply; transitioning from high carbon emissions to low carbon emissions taking into consideration the constraints and opportunities; breaking down the role of South Africa’s energy mix in the transition, and the socio-economic impact of the Just Transition and its financing.
