The Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform Gugile Nkwinti together with the MEC for Rural Environmental and Agricultural Development, Manketse Tlhape invite members of the media to a site inspection of Agri-Parks on the 4th May 2015. Three Agri Parks have been identified for the province of North West. The proceeding will start at the MEC’s office at Agricentre, Cnr. Dr. James Moroka Drive and Stadium Road, Opposite Convention Centre, Mafikeng at 10h30 and proceed to Springbokpan near Lichtenburg for actual site inspection.
The department has identified economically viable sites in all 27 priority districts across the country for the construction of Agri-Parks and R2 billion has been made available for this agri-park initiative, of which 1% will go into capacity building especially in municipalities.
