Members of the media are hereby invited to join the Minister of Transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula, and the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) at the release of the occurrence statistics contained in the State of Safety Report 2018/19.
The report provides an analysis of operational occurrences and security-related incidents in the rail environment for the reporting period from 01 April 2018 to 31 March 2019. It also identifies the main areas of concern and provides input to enable the Regulator and operators to develop strategic interventions to address the areas that need attention.
The release of this year’s report, the 13th edition to be published by the RSR, coincides with the opening of the RSR' Annual Rail Safety Conference which takes place at the beginning of the October Transport Month (OTM).
